September is the end of the 3rd quarter. It’s the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. I love September for multiple reasons. The first being it’s my birth month. I turned 33 this year and I couldn’t be happier.
Turning 33 is a blessing within itself. God saw fit to breathe life in me once again, and I’m forever grateful for that. Since turning 30 it has been an adventure to say the least. I’ve learned the meaning of caring for what is important in my life. Understanding that we only have one life to learn so live it well. Before turning 33 I started writing declarations over my life.
Sometimes I feel stuck and that’s only my fault. Somewhere in life I gave up and became mundane in my walk with myself and Jesus. This September recap is a look into where I started taking my life back; and started enjoying my community.
You only have one life to live, so live it well
Moved from Charlotte back to Atlanta
We just moved to Charlotte 6 months ago spontaneously. I was super excited to move to the city. A new experience, a new environment, a new community to grow in. We moved because we wanted different, and we were tired of just living life the same. God met us in Charlotte.
Although we spent our first two months hotel hopping, we finally found a home in Gastonia, NC about 30 mins west of uptown Charlotte. A beautiful country style home with a porch, it was a cute starter home. We were blessed with a job the 1st week moving to the city so God had us in a really great place. I had no clue that our little cute home was just a rehab home for my husband and I to grow in Christ. Seriously for 6 months straight we worked and went home to rest.
Many nights spent in the prayer closet.
My days detoxing from what life was in Atlanta to where we are now in life. It was definitely a journey but what I didn’t see was our journey coming to an end to begin another journey in Atlanta. This chapter of our lives will be explained in more detail within another blog post. I can easily turn this blog post into a move to Charlotte and back to Atlanta topic.
I attended a few events since being back in Atlanta. To clear the airways I’m in Milledgeville with my husband which is his hometown. We’re about 1hr and 20mins out from the city. Not bad, especially when you’re constantly traveling back and forth. Since being back in the city I’ve attended three events, although it would have been a few more I didn’t make it to all of them.
- The Pivot
- Happy Girl Glow Atlanta Beltline Bloggers Meetup
- Sweet Auburn Music Fest
October is definitely set for many more events to attend. I’m just trying to network and build community. This time around I’m showing up for myself and Jesus. My past years living in Atlanta I really lacked in my personal life but I’m turning that around.
I re-branded and created two other brands
I’ve had colorSHEpretty for 5 years but I haven’t been consistent with this brand. Not really understanding the direction God wanted to take brand down it’s had many personalities. 2019 is the year where I received clear instructions on what I should write on since I’m a blogger. Since growing in my relationship with Christ my life has grown tremendously. I grew in my worth, value, and identity.
This journey has not been easy and I know there are other women out there struggling with the same issues.
With that being said I decided to finally start sharing my story and how I’ve overcome a lot of obstacles Then I was inspired to start a podcast and finally release my digital magazine, because it’s been forever since I wanted to create my own magazine company. Then there is me, the building of my own personal lifestyle brand. There are a lot of fun interesting things about me that I want to share that I found myself cluttering colorSHEpretty with. So I took the necessary time to rebrand colorSHEpretty and created the other two.

The start of Autumn
I don’t know about you but the start of Autumn was the highlight of my entire month. Although it’s still hot as monkey balls outside, we’re hoping for October to bring in the Autumn cool weather. I’m ready for the cool weather, the leaves changing and falling. Oh by the way tonight starts 31 nights of Halloween on Freeform. Totally looking forward to that.
Well September was a beautiful month indeed to reflect back on. I’m super glad that God saw fit for me to see it through. We made it to October.
