Life didn’t start until I fully gave it all over to Christ. Giving it all to Christ can be very unknown and scary. Especially when you’re use to living life according to your own rules.
Learning to trust in the Lord is seriously one of the hardest transitions I ever had to make.
Growing in Christ PERIOD was a tough season for me. Not saying any of this to scare you off but I want to be real in my humanity. Allowing you all to understand that it’s not an easy process saying “YES” to Christ. When you say yes to Christ, you’re saying no to the devil. It amazes me how we burden ourselves down with the thoughts of other humans being your hater when the biggest enemy we have is Satan himself. He will do anything in his path to keep you defeated. To get you under unnecessary pressure of being everything God has called you to be. So my biggest lessons has been my biggest challenges. Learning to defeat the mind battles of growing in Christ and understanding I am worthy of the anointing I carry.
So the main question is what are these 7 lessons?
- His love for us over powers EVERYTHING
- As your anointing grows the more people mysteriously starts to envy you
- Just because you have a good word doesn’t make you a popular preacher
- The unknown mystery of a cult like experience
- Mental Health is just as heavy in the church as it is outside the church
- If God doesn’t worry about it then why do we
- We were made in His Image so why don’t we act like it
1 |His Love For Us Over Powers EVERYTHING
I love unconditionally! I believe this type of love is the type that hurts like hell. I’m sure Jesus felt this hurt but then again this is also the same God who died for us all. Hurt or no hurt this man loved us unconditionally. As much hurt as I have endured during my life span so far, God’s love has overpowered it all. Because I understand that level of love I’m able to love even after experiencing the pain.
2 |As your anointing grows the more people mysteriously starts to envy you
I will never understand why anyone would envy another person’s anointing. We all have the ability to grow in Christ. There’s nothing special about being at the top of the totem pole. The bigger the anointing the bigger the responsibility. It’s best to allow God to grow you then to worrying yourselves about what mantle (anointing) someone else is carrying.
3 |Just because you have a good word doesn’t make you a popular preacher
There are plenty of popular preachers. Most of them are really good motivational speakers and that’s it. They preach what feels good and what will keep the numbers increasing. What I absolutely loved about my Apostle growing up and current and that they preached what feels good and what hurts. God is a good God but he’s also a jealous God! We must remember that.
4 |The unknown mystery of a cult like experience
People don’t know that they move in a cult like way at times. We can only pray that God reveals to them that he was never one to clique up. You can still be friendly and kind to those who leave your church. Not everyone is meant to stay at one church forever. As you grow in Christ then it’s only best to graduate to that next level in life. Sometimes that means leaving your current church to join another or leaving your current church to start another ministry.
5 |Mental Health is just as heavy inside the church as it is outside of it
This lesson right here is an blog post all by itself. I’m super surprised at how as we come to Christ we’re suppose to give up all of our burdens over to him. However if we don’t have accountability to continue growing in Christ and understanding the importance of letting go; then we will continue to struggle with our battles. Trust me my biggest challenges have been mental battles. Stay tune for a later blog post on Mental Health found in the church.
6 |If God doesn’t worry about it then why do we
One that is for certain is a worried man bring upon a lot of stress. Stress is a killer so why do we stress the heck out of ourselves. Sleeping relieves stress for me but honestly if I could be honest, laying all our cares at the feet of Jesus is the best relief. Just recently I stressed the heck out of myself over relationships that came to an end. Worrying over situations God ended. I say when you go to the altar and cry seriously learn to leave it there. Find an accountability partner or even research a therapist. Worrying over things that’s not good for us is unnecessary stress.
7 |We were made in His Image so why don’t we act like it
God created us in His Image! Although we aren’t perfect we still have the qualities of being super awesome because Jesus is super awesome. Unfortunately some of us can be really mean even after coming to Jesus. That’s why when I dedicated my life fully over to Christ. I’ve made it my point to be more like him. Yes, it pains me at times because when you surrender your all to him he really beaks you down. The breaking of your flesh can sting like heck but I don’t mind the pain if that means getting closer to Christ.
Throughout this whole journey I have learned so much. I’m constantly evolving. Never settling for who I am right now because there is always room for growth. Understanding that I’m in a season of constant changing which strengthens my core. So when seasons change I change along with them. This also eliminates becoming stuck in my ways and grouchy. This is a journey that I’m super excited to take you all on if you’re interested. It’s not easy, it’s not pretty but in the end the growth in Jesus out weighs it all.
