September is the end of the 3rd quarter. It’s the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. I love September for multiple reasons. The first being it’s my birth month. I turned 33 this year and I couldn’t be happier.[Read more…]
I remember liking this one guy. This was during a low season in my life but I thought this could work. I was visiting this church and he was a member of it. Oh my he was the cutest. I remember when Kim Walker Smith released her first solo album. It was really good and at the time Kim Walker Smith was my all time favorite worship leader. Unfortunately my guy friend didn’t share in the same interests when it came to worship. I remember creating a worship c.d for him and excited to see what he thought. When he thought opposite of what I thought, yup I knew he was not the one.[Read more…]
Lack of boundaries invites lack of respect. ~Anonymous
Setting boundaries can be hard but it’s so necessary in order to place respect around your name , as well as placing respect around your mental state. My relationship with Christ started when I was 26 but I didn’t start setting boundaries until I was around 29|30 years old. After a while you get tired of people telling you about yourself. Or trying to interject their opinions about what is right for you just because it works for them. Dealing with people in general can be hectic when you don’t know 1. How to love yourself and 2. Don’t know your values.[Read more…]
I’ve been writing since I was a young girl. Never really paid attention to it because it was only a every other day hobby. Never took it serious until 2015. I started entering into the world of blogging, but once again never took it serious. 2015 I remembered praying to God about a name for my blog because I’m not creative at all coming up with names. Once my name was established then the journey of an identity began. Oh how hard that journey was! colorSHEpretty has been a fashion, lifestyle, motivational, spiritual, magazine and so much more. Everything but a beauty blog. Then the blog went through a season of isolation. Fear got in the way of growth and success and I literally gave it all up.[Read more…]
September 6, 1986 was a beautiful day because many awesome incredible women were born this day including me. I love September not only because it’s my birth month because it’s the month of seasons changing. Days aren’t as hot. Fall starts playing peek a boo. To be honest anyone born between September and December are the best because Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas is something we all look forward to.[Read more…]
Life didn’t start until I fully gave it all over to Christ. Giving it all to Christ can be very unknown and scary. Especially when you’re use to living life according to your own rules.
Learning to trust in the Lord is seriously one of the hardest transitions I ever had to make.
Growing in Christ PERIOD was a tough season for me. Not saying any of this to scare you off but I want to be real in my humanity. Allowing you all to understand that it’s not an easy process saying “YES” to Christ. When you say yes to Christ, you’re saying no to the devil. It amazes me how we burden ourselves down with the thoughts of other humans being your hater when the biggest enemy we have is Satan himself. He will do anything in his path to keep you defeated. To get you under unnecessary pressure of being everything God has called you to be. So my biggest lessons has been my biggest challenges. Learning to defeat the mind battles of growing in Christ and understanding I am worthy of the anointing I carry.
